Biography

• Brian grew up in St Vital graduating from Hastings and Dakota; now in lives in St. Vital with his wife Dr. Alison Marshall and their two sons who attended École Julie-Riel and École Marie-Anne-Gaboury;
   

• Served 15 years (2011-2026) as City Councillor for St.Vital including serving as the first City-School Board liaison and Chair of Climate Action Committee;
   

• Former Lawyer, School Trustee (Brandon) and School Board Pension Trustee;
   

• Experienced as a Director of Old St Vital Biz, Winnipeg Art Gallery; Morrow Avenue Child Care; Assiniboine Park Conservancy; Heritage Winnipeg; Deposit Guarantee Corporation of Manitoba, 2017 Canada Summer Games; and Winnipeg Police Board;
   

• Served as a Public Interest Representative, Workers Compensation Board of Manitoba; 
   

• Appointed by fellow lawyers to Law Society Complaints Investigation Committee; 
   

• City of Winnipeg School Board Liaison and Chair of the Winnipeg Food Council; and
   

• Distance runner and former soccer/basketball coach at Norberry-Glenlee and Dakota Community Centres.
